UI Graphic Designer (m/f)

Position Description:

Be part of a new and exciting design team and give form and expression to visions from the beginning.

If you are looking for one of the rare challenges to intensively work on and define a service experience which reaches far into everyday life and which will open up new ways on how people relate to their everyday environment, keep reading.

Our 'fresh' and growing design team in Berlin aims far beyond the idea providing a map on the mobile phone and the user navigating somewhere. We are exploring and defining a new generation of social location services, enabling a sustainable and exciting world of experiences which actually serve very basic human needs: to keep in touch and to discover places in a meaningful way.

What we expect from you:

We are looking for a highly inspired, creative and very experienced visual designer with a strong background in animation and interactive media across different device interfaces, such as mobile touch, non-touch as well as desktop-interfaces.

You are very familiar with the definition of user interaction concepts and know how to translate them into animated, interactive components, bringing them to life with your rapid prototyping and visual design skills. You feel at home designing for highly interactive systems, balancing technical feasibility, cutting edge style, clever animation and user friendly interaction.

As part of an interdisciplinary design and development team, you will design for a technical environment which is constantly developing along the way. You will introduce your designs to other designers and developers, verify, challenge and improve them, creating the most important key elements for Nokia's next generation platform for social location services.

Requirements:

* You are an excellent crafts person with visual design tools including, at a minimum, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and Flash. Experience with Fireworks and 3D graphics packages is a plus.

* You are experienced in designing for mobile touch- and non-touch screens as well as for desktop-interfaces

* You produce superior & industry leading design

* You can demonstrate and explain your design work within and outside the team

* You efficiently produce animation solutions and visual demos created in Flash or similar software packages

* You feel at home in an international work environment and are fluent in written and spoken English

Your background

* You have at least 3 years of rigorous experience in visual/graphic design in a demanding environment and a degree in a relevant field, for example in graphic design

* You have a strong portfolio of your visual design work with and emphasis on interactive media/animation

* You are innovative, open-minded, and an adaptable team player with a positive outlook on life. You have a 'can-do' delivery-oriented mindset. Working under pressure is easy for you, and you enjoy taking the initiative. You have a portfolio of designs showing your work, and you want to grow as a designer.

* A rapidly growing and constantly evolving environment gives you energy and inspires you and your work
