Junior Logistic Planner

General information:

Cargill's Biodiesel Logistic Operations are located in Ghent (Belgium) and Frankfurt (Germany) in charge of trade execution and production planning for the 2 local plants and for handling the storage farm used for trading activities. The complexity of the operations is due to the multi-site and multi-account flow management.

Position purpose:

The purpose of this position is to develop a new resource assisting our two logistic planners in the execution of inbound and outbound flow of products to satisfy the commercial contracts and supporting the cooperation between Production, Commercials and Accountants. On-the-job you will run through a 12 month training to develop your skills and abilities to take over the position of a Logistic Planner. Our local logistic team is in charge of the operations that involve the pipeline for biodiesel, glycerin (crude and refined) and other byproducts.

Principle accountabilities:

The scope of this logistic role covers all events in the lifetime of the commodity contract between its closing and its execution, including the physical movements. Key in the problem solving process is to gather and interpret the information available in the correct way. It will give a big exposure both internally (production, lab, merchants and traders, accountants) and externally (customers and counterparties) and will contain the following accountabilities:

* support and assist the logistic planners in the execution of biodiesel, glycerin and byproducts supplies and deliveries

* focus on execution (e. g. truck documentation, general logistics, invoices to and telephone-calls with customers, customer service activities)

* assure information consistency for accounting and commercial purposes

* assist on rotation other team members (e. g. customer service, barges/trucks’ planning and negotiation with transporters/ brokers/owners)

Qualifications:

* completed professional education and preferably work experience in a similar function

* good administrative skills

* excellent command of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)

* preferably good knowledge of ERP Systems

(e. g. SAP, JDE)

* numerical agility and affinity with an administrative organisation

* ability to communicate effectively

* fluency in German and upper-intermediate English language skills, French or Dutch would be beneficial

* able to work in teams and to handle priorities

* problem solving approach
